Amy Eagle lands at DDB.

NEW YORK Omnicom Group's DDB has named Amy Eagle, director of client services at Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners, to steer its global Unilever ice cream account.

Eagle, who assumes the role of global business director on the estimated $100 million account, will be based in New York and report to office president Peter Hempel. She joins a select group of three global account chiefs here and 17 around the world.

In her two years at MDC Partners' Kirshenbaum here, Eagle worked on accounts such as Starz Entertainment, Coca-Cola's Tab and Diageo's Don Julio and Ciroc. Before that, she was director of communications planning on Procter & Gamble at Aegis Group's Carat in New York. Earlier in her career, Eagle was director of account planning at DDB's San Francisco office.

"Amy is a terrific talent with strong, integrated platform experience that will benefit our new client and the agency at large," said Hempel in a statement.

In January, DDB and Interpublic Group's Lowe became the big winners in a global creative review of Unilever's ice cream business.

DDB landed duties on "take-home" brands sold at supermarkets, including Breyers, Wall's and Carte D'Or, while Lowe won duties on "impulse brands" like Magnum and Cornetto that are sold by street vendors and at delicatessens. Global major media spending on all Unilever ice cream brands is estimated at $250 million.

IPG's McCann Erickson was the other finalist and chief incumbent on the business, though independent Nitro and IPG's Campbell Mithun also handled Unilever ice cream assignments.

In fact, the major U.S. brands that DDB added -- Breyers, Klondike, Good Humor and Popsicle -- came out of Campbell Mithun in Minneapolis.

Kirshenbaum has filled its client services position with Steve McCall, a partner and the agency's director of client business development. McCall will retain his business development duties, however, as he assumes a dual role, an agency representative said.
