BOSTON Interpublic Group's Mullen said it has added Stephen Hahn-Griffiths as evp, director of brand planning. He joins the Wenham, Mass.-based agency from independent Doner in Southfield, Mich.

He succeeds David Duncan, who briefly held the post at Mullen but left the shop last year for personal reasons.

At Doner as director of strategic planning and research, Hahn-Griffiths led key accounts like the Coca-Cola assignment, which includes Minute Maid, Simply Orange and Odwalla. He helped the shop win Expedia, one of its showpiece clients, in a hotly contested 2006 review. He served at Doner for eight years.

At Mullen, Hahn-Griffiths will seek to create "a planning culture where inspiration from insight and catalytic thinking will yield big ideas and create brand velocity," he said.

His resume also includes tenures at Grace & Rothschild in New York and U.K. shops Golley Slater, Saatchi & Saatchi and Bates.

Mullen has made several high-profile exec hires of late, including Matt Fischvogt last month in the new post of cd, innovation and integration, and Julie Coulton in June as svp, director of digital media at Mullen's MediaHub division. Most notably, executive creative director Mark Wenneker arrived in March from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners as Mullen's No. 2 creative executive behind longtime CCO Edward Boches.
