BOSTON Nokia has awarded creative chores on its global Nseries account to independent Wieden + Kennedy, the agency has confirmed. The London office of the shop, headquartered in Portland, Ore., will handle the assignment.

Interpublic Groupe's Lowe, also in London, had previously crafted Nseries ads and was a finalist in the review along with Wieden, which will break new work early next year.

Lowe had added the business in 2005 as part of an IPG team that won Nokia's pan-European business. The IPG agency remains on the client roster.

Ad spending on the Nseries was not disclosed -- but sources pegged the annual global outlay in excess of $100 million with work appearing in all variety of online and offline media.

The Nseries of multimedia mobile cell phone products includes music, video, photograph, gaming and Internet systems.

Wieden has been lead agency on Nokia's mobile phones business since last year. JWT is the global network for distributing and adapting mobile phones work. The client is based in Espoo, Finland.
