Chivas Picks Euro RSCG

Havas-owned shop follows TBWA on brand

NEW YORK Pernod Ricard's Chivas Brothers is shifting global creative duties on its Chivas Regal brand from TBWA to Euro RSCG, the client has confirmed.

The move came after both shops put forth creative ideas for the scotch whiskey, said sources.

Havas' Euro RSCG, which joins the Pernod Ricard roster with the appointment, will run the business out of its London office.

"We have already been impressed by their dynamic team and the international understanding they have brought to the brand and [we] look forward to a new creative approach over the coming months and years," said Martin Riley, international marketing director for Chivas Regal.

Global major media spending on the brand totaled around $12 million last year, including $5 million in the U.S., according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus and Nielsen Global AdView.

Omnicom Group's TBWA, whose New York and London offices handled the account, declined to comment. The agency remains on Pernod's roster, handling brands such as Jameson, Martel, Seagram, Chivas Bros. Royal Salute and Absolut, which Pernod is in the process of acquiring.
