A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 12 p.m. at the Tawas Bay Yacht Club in East Tawas, Mich., for former longtime McCann Erickson executive Gerald C. Atkin. He died last month at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston following a battle with lymphoma. He was 73. Atkin managed McCann's office in Melbourne, Australia from 1991-96, following a 10-year tenure overseeing McCann in Detroit and serving as worldwide coordinator on the General Motors account.
