Chicago-based indie shop Tris3ct has lured another Y&R exec over to the West Loop as it’s hired Chris Cancilla to take on the post of executive creative director. Cancilla’s hiring follows that of former Y&R SVP, account director (on Sears) Tim Nelson, who joined Tris3ct as president back in May.
Cancilla, meanwhile, served as SVP/GCD during his nearly three-year stint at Y&R Chicago, working on Sears (including holiday campaigns and this year’s “Turf Wars” spring effort) as well as Hilton Hotels, Dave & Buster’s and The American Red Cross. Prior to Y&R, Cancilla spent four years at Arc Worldwide/Leo Burnett and led business wins for Visa and Capital One among others. Now as ECD at Tris3ct, which is a newly created post at the agency, Cancilla will lead creative efforts (duh), help in new business efforts and report to CCO Paul Kuzma.
