Wongdoody Hypes Alaska Airlines

By Erik Oster

Wongdoody launched a new campaign for Alaska Airlines, with Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson returning as chief football officer for the airline.

After putting the team through training camp last year, this year Wilson leads a company retreat through three spots: “Woodcarving,” “Drum Circle” and “Canoe.”  In “Woodcarving,” Wilson explains that the activity teaches “details, small details,” while the drum circle is meant to teach the team to play in unity. The spots follow a similar tone and approach to last year’s efforts, with the attempts at humor ultimately feeling a bit forced. The broadcast spots made their debuts, appropriately enough, during the NFL season opener last Sunday.
