Whitney Museum of American Art Names The&Partnership as AOR

The Whitney Museum of American Art appointed The&Partnership as its new lead creative and media agency, effective immediately, following a creative review which included other New York agencies. The&Partnership will be tasked with leading all advertising creative, with network partner m/SIX handling media.

“The&Partnership’s entrepreneurial spirit and deeply collaborative approach are a great fit for the Whitney. We’re thrilled to have them join our team,” said Whitney Museum of American Art CMO Jeff Levine.

A spokesperson cited the agency’s “standout original creative work” and “the offering it encompasses under one roof” as reasons for selecting The&Partnership.

“The Whitney is one of New York’s cultural icons and we’re tremendously proud to be chosen as the partner to help more people discover the power of this amazing institution,” added The&Partnership CEO Andrew Bailey.

The appointment follows Wil Boudreau leaving BBDO to join The&Partnership as North American CCO this July.

The Whitney Museum of American Art was was founded by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney in 1931 and focuses on 20th and 21st century American art. It closed briefly around two years ago in order to relocate to a new building designed by architect Renzo Piano in the Meatpacking District, reopening in May of 2015 at its new location.

The&Partnership will begin work for the Whitney Museum of American Art this month, focusing on the Whitney Biennial, opening in the spring of 2017.
