We don’t watch The Fringe, but one of the show’s more mysterious characters called the Observer has been popping up on other Fox programs. So far, American Idol, an NFL game and a NASCAR race have all played host to the character.
His presence on the show is so mysterious that characters never seem to notice the guy, though he’s pretty obviously trying to get noticed in the clip above. It’s all part of a semi-viral attempt by FOX to drum up some more attention for the program.

Dude is played by Michael Cerveris, and he sort of reminds us of the smoking man. Yeah, Mulder, get your thinking cap on. Jynkies. (h/t faceless intern ryan)
