-Three New York-based Miami Ad School graduates created this spec spot encouraging Pantone to support the LGBT community during the coming World Cup by “painting the roof of every single building in Downtown Sochi with the six colors of the Rainbow Flag.” We like the idea, but we can’t say it will work.

-Deutsch New York social media director Russ Marshalek brought his dog to work and scored coverage on the possibly-hipster blog Brightest Young Things.

-Big Spaceship named Cedric Devitt, formerly of MRY, as its first chief creative officer. Other recent hires include now-former R/GA tech director Vinny DiBartolo, who recently left that agency to become VP of tech at Big Spaceship.

-Venables Bell & Partners named four new associate partners: Creative Director Lee Einhorn, Head of Strategy Michael Davidson, Head of Talent Mary Johnstone, and CFO Gary Brown.

-On Ideas, Inc. of Jacksonville, Florida signed David Bonner as its ECD. Bonner, who was a senior copywriter at BBDO Toronto, joins after serving as CCO of Marriner Marketing in Columbia, Maryland.

-Tool recently expanded its virtual reality/experiential division with projects for Converse/Anomaly and other clients.

-Don’t call it a trend: Zimmerman followed its American Media (Muscle & Fitness, OK!, etc.) win by signing as AOR for supplement company BPI Sports. As the press release puts it, “Zimmerman hired by world’s fastest-growing sports nutrition company to grow even faster.”
