Tim Blett Leaves Doner

By Kiran Aditham

Tim Blett, who has served as senior partner, president at Doner and helped establish its Newport Beach, CA office, has parted ways with the agency. Blett has been a Doner staffer since 1986, originally joining in a new business development role.  We have the official memo sent from Rob Strasberg and David DeMuth regarding Blett’s departure, which you can read after the jump.

It is with affection and great appreciation that we say goodbye to Tim Blett. After 25 years with the company, Tim has decided to sell his interests in Doner back to the agency and will be stepping down from his position as senior partner, president of our Newport Beach office. Tim will be pursuing new opportunities in the field of advertising, marketing, and media.

For more than two decades Tim’s dynamic management style, boundless enthusiasm and marketing savvy have inspired some of Doner’s most impactful work. Throughout his time with the agency, Tim has been a passionate stakeholder in our clients’ businesses and a great proponent for innovative, integrated marketing ideas. We have been lucky to have had him as part of our leadership team for such a significant amount of time.

With the news of this transition we stay committed to building our Newport Beach office and look forward to serving our clients and growing our account roster. Following Tim’s departure at the end of June, a new management team will be put in place made up of three senior Doner employees, including Brian Born, senior VP, creative director, Henni Sanft, senior VP, director of planning and research, and Peter Watkins, senior VP, brand leadership. These three employees have demonstrated a true commitment to our existing clients and a dedication to the success of the agency. We’re confident in what’s to come under their leadership.

The mark that Tim has made on the agency will forever be a part of our history. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors and know great things are ahead of him.
