Verizon, McGarryBowen Continue March Madness Marketing

By Kiran Aditham

As March Madness soldiers on, so does McGarryBowen and its b-ball-themed campaign promoting Verizon’s 4G LTE coverage. This spot follows one that sparked some controversy earlier this week because of accusations that it was a ripoff of a Saturday Night Live skit from back in the day called “Bad Idea Jeans.” To clarify things, we’ve been told that SNL gave clearance for the agency/client to spoof the sketch since the NBC institution recently did its own, rather amusing parody of Verizon’s in-st0re advertising.

Anyhow, with that out of the way, here’s the latest McGB-created effort for the wireless carrier called “The Right Team,” which was directed by Aaron Stoller. Having tried to play city ball back in the day, we know how it feels to be picked by the blue-jersey guy.
