Ogilvy & Mather hired Aleena Abrahamian as executive vice president, digital and social for the agency’s West Coast team. Based out of San Francisco, Abrahamian will lead the office’s integrated and strategic planning while executing creative digital and social strategy and storytelling on behalf of its client roster and reporting to Dan La Russo, managing director of Ogilvy PR’s San Francisco and Denver offices.

“I am delighted to welcome Aleena to our West Coast team, as we grow and deepen our digital and social capabilities,” La Russo said in a statement. “She brings integrated expertise that cuts across a variety of industries to bear for our team and clients.”

Abrahamian joins Ogilvy following over six months as as a contract marketing director for Gap Inc.’s Athleta, where she integrated content marketing across its digital and social networks. Before that she spent about three and a half years with VaynerMedia in San Francisco, serving as senior vice president and leaving the agency in March prior to the office’s still-unexplained closing. While with VaynerMedia, she helped lead digital and social efforts for brands including L’Oreal, Levis, Starbucks, Sonic Drive-In, Naked Juice, Big Heart Pets, Del Monte, CNET and Fox. Prior to joining VaynerMedia she spent a year as vice president with Citizen Relations International in London, focusing on the Sony Mobile account, following a year as strategy director with Current working with such clients as Pine-Sol, Clorox, Green Works and Black Box Wines.
