Unilever Imagines a World with More Making Out

By Ella Riley-Adams

If you haven’t gotten any for a while, you might want to steer clear of Hungry Man Brazil and Lowe Singapore/Bangkok’s latest spot for Unilever. Feelings of envy and a heated desire to make out may arise.

The 45-second video, directed by Hungry Man’s Carlao Busato, is an “action-packed” ad for the mega-corporation’s toothpaste brand called Close Up, which apparently eliminates 99 percent of mouth germs. And when no one in the world has bad breath, there’s nothing stopping people from getting close. Bus drivers and passengers lock lips, a policewoman jumps on a robber in a loving way, opposing soccer fanatics forget their rivalries. And, it all goes down to the tune of Bonde do Role’s “Bang.”

If that doesn’t inspire you to seize the day by its face and kiss it hard (metaphorically or not), I’m not sure what will.
