UCHealth Picks Grey San Francisco as Its New Agency of Record

By Erik Oster

UCHealth, a Colorado-based nonprofit healthcare system which also serves communities in southern Wyoming and western Nebraska, appointed Grey San Francisco as its agency of record following a review. According to sources close to the matter, the agency beat out fellow finalist The Richards Group to win the business.

Grey San Francisco takes over for incumbent Colorado-based agency Cactus, and it will be tasked with media buying and planning, brand and consumer advertising, developing brand strategy and digital communications as UCHealth expands with new locations and services. UCHealth currently includes five hospitals, over 100 clinics and 16,000 employees. According to one source’s estimate, the organization spent around $10 million on measured media in Colorado last year–a number which should increase with the healthcare system’s expansion. For Grey San Francisco, the appointment is the latest in a string of account wins. Last year the agency was named the first lead shop for renewable energy development company SunEdison, while also adding Pernod Ricard’s Graffigna wine brand and Lending Tree to its client roster.

“Grey’s strategic insight coupled with their ability to create big, powerful ideas across channels made them the perfect partners to help spearhead our aggressive new marketing efforts in support of UCHealth’s mission and excellent patient care,” said UCHealth CMO Manny Rodriguez.

“We are honored and excited to work with UCHealth, a nationally renowned pacesetter in medical care,” added Grey San Francisco president Milan Martin. “The organization is known for its innovation and our charge is to go beyond traditional advertising and harness technology to make their brand marketing a healing element of their services.”
