-After a few years away, Karen Jacobs has rejoined Starcom USA, where she spent a quarter-century and worked on the media side when it was dubbed Leo Burnett Media, as EVP/integrated operations.

-Santa Monica-based prodco Green Dot Films has signed creative studio Minivegas, recently responsible for the interactive portion of W+K’s “Wolfdog” campaign for Old Spice, for live action, animation and VFX projects. link

-InterContinental Hotels Group has named Atlanta-based full-service agency Engauge as AOR for its launch of its EVEN Hotels division. link

-Interbrand has promoted Fred Burt to the newly created post of managing director of global clients, a newly created while welcoming former Johnson & Johnson global creative director Elan Cole joins the firm as global ECD.

-St. Louis-based design/advertising/promotions agency Paradowski Creative has hired Pat Rosner as director of insights/planning and Annie Kayser as an account manager.

-Hollywood-based digital agency Modus Operandi has acquired mobile strategy-focused firm, Dark Matter. As part of the move, Dark Matter founder Angel Evan assumes the role of partner/head of strategy & analytics for Modus Operandi.
