Tim Keaton Leaves CE, Again

By Matt Van Hoven

In an e-mail to staff today, Campbell Ewald’s Tony Hopp informed staff that agency veterans Tim Keaton and Bob Mitchell are retiring at the end of the year.

In late November, we reported that Keaton “was let go…along with a number of support staff.” We’re told today that Keaton was brought back on, only to retire shortly thereafter. Of the two, who in total have worked at Campbell Ewald for half a century, Hopp said, “I personally want to thank Bob and Tim for their dedication and contributions to Campbell-Ewald and our clients during their many years with the agency. Please join me in extending our heartfelt best wishes.”

“Bob Mitchell and Tim Keaton have announced their plans to retire from the agency at the end of the year. An agency veteran of over 32 years, Bob has provided executive leadership in a number of important roles, including direction of Chevrolet media as well as digital, custom publishing and co-op disciplines. Throughout his career, he has been a champion of campaign integration and harnessing technology for innovative breakthroughs. Tim has driven our success on some of our most demanding and challenging client assignments for nearly 20 years, serving as account director for Chevrolet, GM, OnStar, Kaiser Permanente and our Ad Council work for the National Fatherhood Initiative. Earlier in his career, he directed the Chevrolet truck business during its meteoric growth as America’s longest-lasting, most dependable truck. I personally want to thank Bob and Tim for their dedication and contributions to Campbell-Ewald and our clients during their many years with the agency. Please join me in extending our heartfelt best wishes.”
