There’s a Frightening New Art Installation in the Camp+King Offices

By Bob Marshall

In February of last year, we reported that Jamie King, former co-president of Euro RSCG Chicago, was reuniting with Publicis & Hal Riney colleague Roger Camp to start a Havas-backed SF-based shop named Camp+King. In addition to coining the term “Conversation Swell” for the shop’s USP, the young agency is already counting Old Navy, Shanklee, and Yahoo among its clients.

To christen the office, Camp+King brought in Long Beach-based artist Jeff McMillan to add a somewhat terrifying new installation that will undoubtedly strike fear in the hearts of clients with an aversion to snarling sea creatures. Judging by McMillan’s body of work, which lovingly combines beauty with grotesque creatures, Camp+King knew what they were getting into. As long as we’re on the subject, does anyone have any disconcerting agency art they’d like to share?
