The Women’s Sports Foundation Gets a Barbarian Overhaul

By Bob Marshall

Honoring the 40-year anniversary of Title IX (which sought to abolish gender discrimination in educational programs that received federal funding), the Barbarian Group has launched a total website redesign for the Women’s Sports Foundation, a non-profit that seeks to encourage women and girls to participate in athletics for a better life.

The organization, founded in 1974 by tennis legend Billie Jean King, is where “The S.H.E. Network” lives as a way to connect female athletes around the world for conversations about sports, health and education. Along with the re-launch comes the above video, where female athletes from all different sports discuss their struggles with overcoming gender stereotypes to become sporting successes and happier, more fulfilled people in general. Nice, but it’s really hard to beat Nike’s still haunting and emotional “If You Let Me Play” campaign from the 90s.
