The Week in Advertising is ready for the new year, though this one starts out with a bit of a sad note. In addition to the layoffs that are happening around the industry, we’re losing Pip to NYU. Yes, the lovable bundle of glib is heading off to learn something useful. As if whiskey and advertising quips weren’t enough. How rude!

This week, a lesson from the 90s comes back to haunt us, TheLadders gets in middle-America’s face (though they don’t seem to notice), and Alex Bogusky’s diet book probably won’t sell in Burger King kiosks.
