The EU’s New Rules For Advertising

The European Commission has been cracking down on misleading advertising and aggressive selling practices this year, but now, a new guidelines have been rolled out effective today. There are now bans “on fake ‘free’ offers and a ban on ‘pester power’ advertising to children on the Internet.”

Fourteen states have implemented the new Unfair Commercial Practices directive and proceedings against those member states that have not yet complied are in process.
