Stolte, Johnson Leave Tribal DDB NY

By Kiran Aditham

It’s been quite a few months since we’ve touched on notable departures from Tribal DDB’s New York office, but we’ve come to learn this week that both Milla Stolte and Pete Johnson are leaving the agency.

Stolte spent the last year as engagement planning director at Tribal and was put in charge of its social media offering, Radar, this past February. While spies tell us that she left to freelance, Stolte LinkedIn says otherwise as apparently she’s already taken a planner position at Modernista! is joining LBi as director of planning on June 23, the agency confirms. She’ll report to the agency’s global head of planning.

Meanwhile, Johnson, who spent the last 3 1/2 years as a CD/copywriter at Tribal NY, working on projects including the Philips Bodygroom “Manalogues,” has also left to take a GCD post at LBi, which he assumes today. Tribal tells us both positions are being filled. (P.S. To the tipster who alleges we’re on Omnicom’s payroll, sorry to disappoint you, my friend.)

Update: Some folks are telling us now that the Stolte/LBi deal fell through. We’re awaiting word from said agency as well as Modernista! to get the proper info on this one.

Update 2: Milla herself confirms that the LBi deal fell through because she “didn’t want to live in New York anymore” and now she’s headed out to the West coast to sign with a familiar agency to be revealed shortly.
