With basically everyone from New York Senator Chuck Schumer to the Department of Transportation taking umbrage with Spirit Airlines’ decision to charge up to $45 for carry-on luggage, president/CEO Ben Baldanza is deflecting the heat with stupid humor in the above clip. Like his previous explanations to various trades, Baldanza says in the clip that this new charge will help “total prices go down while speeding up the security lines and the boarding process.” How the hell this guy fit in the overhead is another story, but maybe Spirit should just stick to its tasteless acronyms for promotional material instead.
