Simon Bond Joins IPG as Chief Growth Officer

IPG announced the appointment of Simon Bond as chief growth officer today, effective as of September 9. He will report directly to executive vice president, chief strategy and talent officer Philippe Krakowsky.

Bond joins IPG from BBDO Worldwide, where he has served as global chief marketing officer since April of 2011, responsible for driving business development across all of BBDO’s networks. That followed a stint as chief marketing officer for Proximity Worldwide, beginning in late 2008. Before that he spent over four years as regional managing director, Asia Pacific for BBDO/Proximity Asia, where he helped set up offices in China, Korea, Japan, India Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines, and worked with clients such as Visa, Citibank, Pepsi, Diageo, Mercedes, Mars, P&G and GE. He also spent three years with Impact BBDO as regional managing director, Middle East & North Africa and as an account director for Proximity London. 

“Simon has a proven track record of building business and delivering integrated marketing solutions for many of the world’s largest and most sophisticated clients,” said Krakowsky. “Increasingly, clients are asking us for ‘best-of-IPG’ solutions involving multiple parts of our company. Simon will be an asset to our agencies’ business development teams, focusing our new business activity around best practices, and ultimately driving growth across the group.”
