Silvia Lagnado to Leave Bacardi

By Kiran Aditham

We’ll kick things off on the marketers’ front this morn and let you know that Silvia Lagnado, global chief marketing officer of Bacardi and president of Bacardi Global Brands, is leaving the company over the next few months to pursue other interests. Regarding the exec’s impending departure, Bacardi Limited president/CEO Ed Shirley sprinkles the usual niceties in a statement, saying, “We thank Silvia for her contributions and dedication to the Company and wish her every success.”

Bacardi says Lagnado’s successor will be announced “in due course.” The departing exec was installed as Bacardi CMO two-and-a-half years ago after spending nearly a quarter-century at Unilever, where she perhaps most notably served as EVP and marketing mastermind behind Dove’s innovative, influential “Campaign for Real Beauty.” During her time at Bacardi, Lagnado worked out of the brand’s London office.
