Sid Lee Snags Adidas from 180 Amsterdam

By Kiran Aditham

Tipsters have been telling us for months and even as recently as last Friday that the Adidas account was moving from 180 Amsterdam to Montreal-based Sid Lee. Considering that the latter agency has already knocked out two well-received ads this year for the Originals line, it only seemed inevitable.

While we didn’t hear back from Sid Lee when we contacted them on Friday, Brand Republic now confirms what we’ve been hearing for a while, that the apparel brand has moved its global ad account to the Canadian shop, thus ending an eight-year relationship with 180. According to the trade, Sid Lee won the account without a pitch and will now handle advertising, branding, retail design, experiential and interactive communications account for Adidas.
