Deja Vu: Ashley Madison SB Spot Gets Turned Down by Fox

By Bob Marshall

Whether it’s offending Australian drivers or getting banned from the Oscars, the Ashley Madison website continues to get attention for telling married people, “Life is short. Have an affair.” This time, the above 30-second spot was deemed “not acceptable to air” by Fox during the network’s Super Bowl broadcast, but Ashley Madison’s CEO Noel Biderman is confident he can convince local affiliates in some markets to air the commercial. After all, he did get airtime in Houston, TX for AM’s 2009 Super Bowl ad that was rejected by NBC.

Though it features adult film star Savanna Samson, Biderman thinks this latest ad is appropriate for the millions of football fans young and old tuned into the game as it doesn’t use the “Life is short” tagline or explicitly delve into the lurid details of the site’s services. We can’t help but wonder what we would rather watch during the Super Bowl: this or the Black Eyes Peas’ halftime show? W

By the way, does anyone know if the Puppy Bowl is going to be airing on Animal Planet again this year?
