Shackle Replaces Kerrigan at Gyro London

By Kiran Aditham

Let’s kick things with a little news from across the Atlantic. A month after confirming the departure of its London ECD, Ian Kerrigan, Gyro, which dubs itself the “global ideas shop,” has announced his replacement in Mike Shackle. The new Gyro London exec heads to the U.K. after making the rounds in New York for the last couple of years, first helping run day-to-day creative at BBH (along with Calle Sjoenell and Jon Pearce) then heading to Deutsch NY to serve as SVP/group creative director on the latter’s Microsoft account 15 months ago.

Shackle officially assumed his position this week while Kerrigan will be vacating his next month. During his career, the incoming ECD has held the same title at Y&R/Enfatico Beijing and also spent nearly four years at TBWA\Tequila Singapore. In a statement, Gyro London managing director Nick Jefferson sings Shackle’s praises, saying, ““Mike is a true creative leader. As a Brit who has lived and worked in Asia, North America and Europe, he brings a truly international perspective to our global network. With Mike, gyro London will reach its next level in its unstoppable pursuit of creative innovation and thought leadership for our clients.”
