SapientNitro has promoted Nigel Vaz to the role of chief strategy officer, BrandRepublic reports. In his new global role, Vaz will work with agency’s leadership team and “play a key leadership role in developing and executing SapientNitro’s global business strategy and identifying market opportunities,” reporting directly to CEO Alan Wexler.

Vaz has served as senior vice president, managing director for SapientNitro in Europe for the past two years, after filling that role for the agency’s London office for a year prior to that. He originally arrived at SapientNitro in January of 2000 as a director, working his way up to vice president five years later and managing director in 2007. Prior to joining SapientNitro, he was a co-founder and managing director at Internet Solutions, spending four years with the company.

“Our clients face challenges including elevated consumer expectations, changing business models and cost pressures,” Wexler told BrandRepublic. “Nigel has an outstanding track record in evolving SapientNitro ahead of the market and I am thrilled to have him spearhead the agency’s strategy for serving our clients’ fast-changing needs.”
