Saatchi’s Wife Is The New Buffett

By SuperSpy

What a weird day, right? Goodnes Mfg. debuts its first work. Publicis goes green, we talked to those in need and our entry about Wendy’s new commercial has 32 comments attached to it. Advertising can be so, so… unpredictable. It’s nice.

The latest and greatest bit of weird advertising news is that Charles Saatchi (who we really like) and his wife Nigella Lawson will not be leaving a penny to their rugrats. Lawson, who is also a famous TV chef, and her hubby are worth an estimated “£110 million and own a £7 million mansion in London’s Belgravia. Saatchi, 64, is worth at least £100 million from his modern art collection and advertising firm Saatchi & Saatchi.”

Lawson said that: “I am determined that my children should have no financial security. It ruins people not having to earn money. I argue with my husband Charles, because he believes that you should be able to leave money to your children. I think we’ll have to agree to disagree.”

Hell, we agree. A hard day’s work never hurt anyone. Looks like her 13-year-old daughter Cosima and 11-year-old son Bruno from her previous marriage and Saatchi’s daughter Phoebe (also from a previous marriage) will have to grind the nine to five like the rest of us. Well, sort of. Let’s be real… it’s not like they are going to have to take out college loans or sweat about buying their first home. These kids are still way ahead of the curve. They’ll just have to make due with the $1M Saatchi will surely find a way to leave to them, despite Lawson’s Buffett like tendency. Charles, sweet Charles, sounds like big softy, no?
