Propane CEO, SVP/Biz Dev Call it Quits

By Kiran Aditham

It appears that the new year has heralded quite the leadership blow-up at San Francisco/Brooklyn-based digital agency Propane Studio. Sources familiar with the matter confirm that CEO Steven Brisson, who had been with the shop for nearly two years, and SVP, business development Laura Maness, who joined Propane from Draftfcb SF barely nine months ago, are among the C-suite folks who have tuned in their resignation as of late.  From what we’re hearing on the Spy line, those who’ve left were at odds with some of the Propane partners’ recent decisions as well as the future direction of the agency.

Prior to taking on the CEO gig at Propane, Brisson, who also works in commercial/editorial photography, spent some time as ECD at Acquity Group and served as president/CCO at Black Dog Interactive. Maness, meanwhile, spent over two years as director of biz dev at Draftfcb SF and worked in the same department at Wunderman during her career.

Propane, which works with clients including Intel, Hitachi, Kaiser Permanente and Sega, has yet to officially comment on the matter.
