Please Help Find Missing Woman, Hannah Upp

By Matt Van Hoven

We are rarely asked to help in situations like these; be advised that what you are about to read is true. MediaBistro received this plea for help yesterday, and we’re passing the message along through the blogs. No, it doesn’t have anything to do with advertising, other than we’re spreading a message for help in finding Hannah Upp.

I am writing to you with a personal, heartfelt plea to use your media
power to help find a missing person – someone who is, perhaps, one of your most loyal readers and my dear friend.

You don’t know me personally but I work in publishing and am well aware of how influential your postings can be. This is random, this is a stretch, but I’m at my wits end. I needed to try so please forgive this invasion of privacy!

Hannah Upp (see flyer attached) is a 23 year-old Spanish teacher in New York
City Public Schools and she has been missing since Friday, August 29th. She vanished from her Hamilton Terrace apartment suddenly, leaving behind her purse, wallet, keys, cell phone, passport and credit card. No one has heard from her since. She graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 2007 before moving to the city to start her teaching career.

If there is any way you could please post this on the website today in the hopes that we get some leads before it is too late, I would be forever grateful. Think of your friends, your loved ones and how terrifying it would be for them to one day disappear without a sound.

Thank you for your time!

Rebecca Fox of FishbowlNY was able to verify that Hannah truly has gone missing. If you or anyone you know has information, please contact the detective listed in the above photo.

A quote from someone claiming to be her cousin:

Dear Reader,
I am Hannah’s cousin from Dodge City, KS. Just want to thank you with all my heart for posting her picture and this cry for help on your site. We have all (you and I) experienced crisis in our lives… some more than others for sure… but you can imagine what our family and friends are going through at this time. In crisis all the “junk” is stripped away… and we are only left with our beliefs and dreams that are struggling to keep alive. Through your prayers and support you are helping us keep faith of seeing Hannah once again safe and sound. Through your prayers and support we will continue to dream the best for her and our familly. – Corey
