Olson Makes Some Cuts

By Kiran Aditham

Sources familiar with the matter confirm that Minneapolis-based Olson had to let some staff go across departments last week, through we’ve been told that the number wasn’t as severe as tipsters’ estimates of 20-25. While one would think that the recent losses of Fifth Third Bank and Prairie Vodka were the obvious causes, our sources say that the cuts were actually due to, yes, “reorganization” as a result of bringing four companies together over the last 18 months (Olson acquired loyalty agency Denali, now Olson Denali; Dig Communications, now Olson PR (in Chicago); and MyThum, now Olson mobile, in Toronto).
