Olson Builds Up Mobile Unit with MyThum Purchase

By Michael Musco

Olson announced that it’s acquired MyThum, a 30-strong, Toronto-based mobile marketing shop that marks the Minneapolis-based agency’s first international acquisition and one which heralds the beginning of Olson mobile, a new unit that will serve clients across North America.

The new unit, which will be led by now-Olson mobile president/MyThum co-founder Michael Carter (above right), will (obviously) develop and execute mobile strategies for a combined client roster that includes Target, Capital One, Bauer Hockey,  MolsonCoors, Live Nation, Ford and Sony. Carter, who will remain based in Toronto, says in a statement that MyThum was “ready to accelerate its growth, and this opportunity came at a great time” and says his operation looks forward to “being the architects of groundbreaking digital programs for clients—present and future.” Where have we heard that before?
