OK! Magazine Allows Misinformation to be Published (Shocker!)

By SpyWriter

Pantheons of truth that they are, OK! magazine, has been regulated by the Advertising Standards Authority. Two ads for cosmetic promotions by OK! were yanked when the ASA when they received complaints that the products did not do what they claimed. According to the article the ASA reviewed the ads and concluded that, “Although the photographer and one model said the photographs had not been altered in any way, we considered that the ‘before’ photographs clearly showed different shadows and, therefore, lighting, than the ‘after’ photographs.” That’s really nothing new. I see those damn Dr. Zizmor ads every morning and there’s no question they’re fakes, but they have been pulled. Although everytime I’m at Dylan’s Candy Bar (which isn’t that often, seriously) I look upstairs and that office and feel inclined to go in for consultation. If the ASA is gonna regulate one, they should really regulate all. They can start with the back pages of the Village Voice. That’s some false advertising.
