Ogilvy Snags Tabasco Biz

By Kiran Aditham

Tracy-Locke, the Texas shop perhaps most recently best known for The Simpsons 7-11 campaign, has lost the Tabasco account to Ogilvy West. Tracey-Lock originally won the business in 1986, effectively ending a relationship between McIlhenny Company, maker and marketer of Tabasco sauce, and Fitzgerald Advertising of New Orleans. We still prefer Sriracha. We’re getting a statement soon.

Update: Here’s a statement from McIlhenny Company’s EVP, Tony Simmons, who says, “Our obligation to the brand is to have the very best marketing partners available and this project allowed us to interact with some of the best strategic and creative talent in the country. Over the last four months, our experience with this agency review process has energized our executive group to the potential for growth for our Tabasco brand product portfolio. It has also armed us with new information about shopper marketing opportunities, which will help to strengthen our key retailer relationships.”
