Nike Finds Spike Lee’s Son’s Soccer Practice Exciting

By Michael Musco

Director Jake Sumner from prodco All Day Every Day, mixer Rob Difondi and Spike Lee recently dished out a short film saluting soccer. The film was shot at Chrystie Street Soccer Field in NYC, stars Lee and follows his thoughts and actions as he coaches his son’s team.

Spike is obviously very passionate and sometimes melodramatic when it comes to sports. If you’ve seen him at any New York Yankee or Knick game, you know what I’m talking about. Still, he is a very influential character to have on your side when looking to promote something sports-related.

In my opinion, Nike is very smart in choosing their characters to portray whatever it is they’re trying to pursue and this spot comes from an everyday person’s point of view, which makes it very connectible to the audience.
