MUH-TAY- ZIK | HOF-FER launched a new spot for Audi, celebrating a somewhat unusual “Sunday Drive.”
The spot opens on an Audi A4 speeding around a quiet neighborhood with a dirt road. Inside the car, a smiling couple smiles at neighbors out watering the yard as another A4 speeds past on the other side of the road. This couple continues their not so leisurely all-road drive through the spot.
At the conclusion of the effort the car reaches the edge of “Allroad USA” and decides to turn around. It’s a spot designed for car geeks, with plenty of fishtail turns, 180-degree drifts and dust kicking off the wheel to please racing aficionados. A short scene of the couple at the car wash, still decked out in racing gear, provides a slight break in the action.
There’s nothing revolutionary about the approach of “Sunday Drive,” as its juxtaposition of leisurely weekend and racing mostly just provides an excuse to show off the vehicle in action. But it does make the car look fun to drive, which, of course, is the point.
And yeah, it’s different than VB&P’s work for the brand.
