MTA Isn’t ROTFL at NYC Subway Ads

By Kiran Aditham

Citing that it implies obscene language that NYC subway riders may find “offensive, improper or in bad taste,”, the Metropolitan Transit Authority has rejected a campaign created by the Working Families Party. Using mock service change posters (below) that look like the real thing but utilize expressions that are familiar to anyone communicating digitally, the “Service Nightmare” effort chides Mayor Bloomberg for slacking on fixing the subway system while taking aim at the MTA itself for its proposed service cuts and fare hikes.

Despite getting shunned by the MTA, the WFP isn’t giving up, asking for a reversal based on free speech grounds while urging followers to sign a petition and get their backs.
