Mizuno USA Hands AOR Duties to McKinney

Following a review, sporting goods brand Mizuno has appointed Durham, NC-based McKinney as its creative AOR here in the good ol’ US of A. It seems the Georgia-based client has a fondness for North Carolina agencies as it’s previously worked with Charlotte’s BooneOakley, which handled ad duties for nearly two years.

In a statement, Mizuno USA president Bob Puccini explains his company’s decision, saying, “McKinney has demonstrated that they have tremendous experience with consumer products and specifically in the category of sporting goods.  Their innovative thinking and creative strategies truly embody the ‘Never Settle’ spirit that Mizuno embodies.”

No word on who else participated in the review, but we’ll let you know if and when we find out.

Update: We’ve been told by the Mizuno folks that they most recently worked with Madison, WI shop Shine and there were three other agencies involved besides McKinney in the latest review.
