Mick Jagger’s 17 Year Old Daughter Half-Nude in Hudson Jeans Campaign

Writing over the above ad was not my idea. I saw it on Another Limited Rebellion’s design blog and right away the method felt effective. I wanted to show you the ad (which, btw you can find anywhere else) without showing you. The question is, is this OK?

Here’s what campaign lead David Lipman said about the work, whose agency (Lipman) put the campaign together.

“Georgia is the new era of girl.”

Uh, what? Girls by virtue of being young are always new. They’re also off limits when it comes to sexual references in advertising. This kind of work perpetuates the notion that children and sex somehow fit into the same category, which they clearly do not. Once innocence is gone, it’s replaced by something completely the opposite, and if anything it should be the child’s own mistake that results in that loss &#151 not irresponsible parenting by an ad executive and the kid’s rocker of a father. Oh yeah, the model’s name is Georgie Jagger, daughter of Mick Jagger.

And though Brooke Shields was sort of similarly displayed in a Calvin Klein ad, we aren’t sure it’s the same (how old was she, 15?). You decide.
