JWT Vet Gets Bumped to ECD

Seven-year JWT vet Matt MacDonald is finally all grows up as the agency promoted him to executive creative director.

MacDonald begin his career at the agency in 2003 as a copywriter, became a member of its High Potential Program in 2005 and was promoted to CD in 2007. During his tenure, MacDonald worked on brands including Macy’s (he co-created the “Yes, Virginia” holiday campaign), JetBlue, Smirnoff, De Beers, L.L.Bean and Pfizer.

In a statement, JWT NA CEO David Eastman says, “Matt has a passion for the work as well as a knack for pushing the limits, while still staying true to his clients’ needs. Matt was instrumental in the creation of ‘Yes, Virginia’ for Macy’s, among other projects. He has consistently exceeded expectations and become a powerful creative senior talent on our team.”

Prior to joining JWT, MacDonald spent time at Bates USA and is a University of Texas/Bradley alum who once coached and competed on both their speech teams. What that says, we don’t know yet.
