JWT Cuts Some, But There Will Be No ‘Bloodbath’

By Kiran Aditham

Sources familiar with the matter confirm that JWT has cut approximately 12 people in New York across departments, a move that we’ve been told is “heavily influenced” by the loss of Microsoft Office and Bing in May along with the usual reconsolidating, restructuring, etc.

Still, our sources add that JWT staffers are “not going to see a bloodbath” occur and that the majority of cuts due to Microsoft have already been made (close to 90 percent, we hear). This latest round of layoffs comes one month after the agency made a dozen or so cuts in its studio and production departments.
