Jack Lipton Out at G2

By Kiran Aditham

Just a week after Bob Traino and G2 parted ways, the agency has lost another group director. We’ve received confirmation that Jack Lipton, whose official title was SVP, group director, account management, is no longer with G2. Lipton spent the last six years at the agency (predating Wendy Lurrie), first signing on as VP, account director before being promoted to his most recent post in January 2010.

According to a tipster, “Lipton led all digital business for G2’s biggest pharmaceutical client, Boehringer-Ingelheim.  He oversaw the digital and CRM launches of numerous BI brands and worked in close partnership with Grey on the Flomax ‘Here’s to Men’ campaign and the latest new drug launch, Pradaxa.” Lipton joined G2 after spending five years at McCann/MRM, where he held a similar VP, account director title.

Sources familiar with the matter tell us that Paul Velardi, who joined G2’s Health and Wellness unit as executive director in April from Euro RSCG 4D, is “shaking things up” and “assembling his own team” in said division. Apparently, Lipton wasn’t the exact fit under the new regime.
