Fiat got a big shout-out last night from Jennifer Lopez, but at what cost? J-Lo, who recently starred in a Doner-created spot for the automaker’s 500 line, managed to squeeze in basically a Fiat ad reenactment during her medley performance at last night’s American Music Awards. Sure, she may have set a precedent, but she destroyed what little integrity she had left (if she did have any left, that is) in just a few seconds. We have to agree with John Legend (as well as many other acts who were at the AMAs) when he called the act “shameless.” It was bad enough when her actual Fiat 500 work got called “the worst automotive spot of the last decade” by auto execs, but did J-Lo really have to add insult to injury?
