Barely a year after he took on the SVP/managing partner/ECD post at David&Goliath’s new Toronto office, Israel Diaz has jumped ship for the EVP/chief creative officer job at Y&R Toronto, where he will serve as co-leader alongside Y&R Canada president/CEO Chris Jordan.
In his new post, the 16-year ad industry vet will oversee creative across Y&R’s client portfolio including Ford Motor Company of Canada, LG, Hershey Canada and Colgate-Palmolive Canada. Prior to D&G, Diaz oversaw creative for five years at Leo Burnett Toronto. The new CCO”s resume also includes an ACD stint at Lowe Roche and a senior AD position at Cossette.
According to a statement from Y&R’s global CCO Tony Granger, “Chris [Jordan] and I clicked with Israel right away. Aside from his great background and experience, he has tremendous integrity and values. And most importantly, his passion for creating brilliant work is infectious.”
