Yes, we were somewhat off the grid yesterday (sue us), so we missed out on the various April Fool’s Day “pranks” from the ad world (here’s a decent rundown of how some major brands indulged the day). Anyhow, in case you missed it like us, Digitas was apparently behind the fake Crest “Yellow Strips” product that was promoted on the brand’s Whitestripes Facebook page through early this morning (it’s back to normal now, unfortunately). The Crest faux-strips line racked up hundreds of likes and nearly 60 comments in a 24-hour span.
Now, we’ll move from oral hygiene to automotive and mention RPA’s April Fool’s Day effort for Honda, which introduced the world to its car alarm replacement/”anti-theft negotiator” TERII. According to the “press release,” the automaker is planning to roll out the device in all of its 2013 vehicles. See the promo clip below.
