Greenpeace Will Not Let Beef with VW Go

By Kiran Aditham

Two months after taking ssue with Volkswagen’s environmental record via an online spoof of the brand’s own award-winning “The Force” ad created by Deutsch LA, Greenpeace is hoping to continue its onslaught against the automaker by launching a Euro-based competition that urges filmmakers to create their own one-minute anti-VW ad.

According to Campaign, Greenpeace is launching the competition on September 17 in London’s SoHo neighborhood and is offering £5,000 to the winner to make better version of the spoof or an all-new VW attack ad entirely.  The environmental org’s spokesman Richard George tells the trade, “”I’ve no idea what kind of one-minute brand attack our judges will be impressed by, but whoever best captures VW’s hypocrisy on green issues will get £5,000 to make us an internet blockbuster that will be pushed out by Greenpeace around the world.” The winner of the contest will be announced in mid-October. What say you, VW?
