Greenpeace Equates VW to Deathstar in ‘Force’ Spoof

Since day one of its launch, you know VW’s “The Force” spot, which just won the Gold Film Lion at Cannes among several other awards this year, was just asking for a spoof and now Greenpeace has gladly obliged. The organization just launched this online ad that targets VW’s environmental record, spouting claims such as the automaker is “threatening our planet by opposing cuts to CO2 emissions.”

According to Campaign, the ad is being distributed online in more than 14 countries, including China, Canada, US, UK, Germany and France. Of course, the automaker and its Deutsch-created spot haven’t been the only things on Greenpeace’s radar in recent months, as the group took issue with Facebook’s unclean ways via an animated clip back in May.
