Just over a month after we reported that the Toshiba laptop business was in review and that the brand was eyeing shops on both coasts, it looks like the account is staying out West as Hollywood, CA-based goodness Mfg. has been named AOR for the brand’s Consumer Electronics’ Computer account. Toshiba’s Consumer computer business had been handled since 2007 by fellow Irvine, CA-based company Wunderman, which declined to participate in the review.
From what we’ve been told, multiple agencies were vying for this piece of Toshiba, which Nielsen estimates was worth $6 million in 2009 (a goodness Mfg. rep tells us billings for Toshiba Computers is now estimated at $28 million). Besides offering the usual “We’re thrilled with the opportunity” statement, goodness Mfg. partner/ECD Tom Adams reveals that new work for Toshiba is currently underway and will break this month just in time for the holiday season.
